Somewhere in the middle.
I've noticed high ranking officers at work do this, and now there's two business type gents on train sat with their legs in a Sharon Stone kinda fashion.

It seems to be posher chaps that do this.

I never sit legs crossed as it just seems so unnatural. Am I common for sitting legs apart?

So are you in the sitting crossed leg camp?

I physically can't do it even if I wanted do (thighs are too big and hips too narrow), and I don't particularly want to. It does look slightly effeminate IMO.

I don't know if it has anything to do with class though - that statement is slightly confusing to me.

Personally I find it uncomfortable but more importantly un-natural.
That does not mean I sit spread like a Tawainese ho though!

I do this all the time, and I get picked up for doing it all the time. Constantly get joked about the Army openly allowing gays, otherwise I'd be kicked out :p.

I've done it as far back as I can remember though, and I find it quite comfortable, doesn't squash my nuts what so ever.

I find it comfortable to do but end up being called gay when i do :(

Before attempting this i have to pull me pods up which would make me look a bit of a wrongun. Can you just casually dive in to such a maneuver lol

They must be either eunuchs or have extremely small testicles as I can see no other way a Man can sit comfortably with legs crossed, ankle on knee is manageable but even this is uncomfortable.

tbh it probably stems from ppl sitting in London on public transport and needing a way to rest their paper. And frankly, yes they were mostly "upper class" types as you put it.

I guess it also presents you in a more composed looking position, however frankly that's all very Victorian, and as has been said, for most men it'll just be uncomfortable, there's a reason our legs naturally fall apart as they do, there's some quite important stuff in between em we don't like to crush...

Having said that, ankle on knee is a pose I sometimes adopt when in a meeting or something similar, dunno, it just seems to make me feel less awkward when sat round a table discussing stuff.
