Just wondering, how many of you guys play a game for the first time on the hardest difficulty setting?

I used to play every game on my old PC rig on the hardest setting. With consoles, it has taken me well over a year to even get used to the controller, which I think I'm now satisfactory with. But I am to the point where I now play most games on the hardest setting from the get go.

So, what do you do? Play through on a normal setting then re play through on hard, or just kick it in the nads from day 1?

Oh, only game I'm struggling with on hard is Transformers WFC... Not sure why, the team AI is useless, constantly blocking me whilst I'm firing my weapon and the enemy AI don't like to die that quick. Oh and ammo/guns are near on rare as rocking horse **** lol.

Generally if its a game I know I want to play through twice then I'll do normal then hardest setting. If its a game I'll only play once or I've heard it isnt too hard then I'll play it through on hard to get the higher difficulty achievemnts in one go.

Grown custom to always doing it on the hardest but if it becomes ridiculously hard then I usually go down one, only time i've done that was with Halo 3 :o

Usually go through on Normal. The only games i can remember in recent memory of actually going back through and upping the difficulty are the Halo and Gears of War games. Just because it was fun.

Normal or default if it's new to me. Hard if it's a sequel that I'm comfortable playing.

Sometimes also choose hard if I've heard that the game is a bit too easy on the normal settings or there isn't much difference between the two.

Normal in most games is just what I like, not too easy so it becomes boring and not too difficult leading to rage quits.

I start on default and once the game is completed I go back and do the hardest setting, the only exception is COD which I always just play through on Veteran the first time as I usually can't be arsed to play through the game again, the exception to this is World at War which I completed about 4 times.

Depends on the type of game.

Fighting games I generally start on one of the easier levels to get a hang of each character to see which one I will use for harder difficulties.

Sports games usually on hard straight away.

Everything else is usually on whatever is selected by default
