I want to buy a UPS for my home office to provide power surge and power outage protection. I think the only devices I need protected are my PC, NAS, Monitor and ADSL Router and really I want it purely to allow me to safely shut down devices and perhaps give me protection from short outages, sadly not uncommon where I am located.

My NAS is a Synology 410j and has UPS support, providing for a safe shutdown when a power issues is identified, but really I need some pointers on what to consider based on the requirements above.

I am considering an APC Smart-UPS 750 LCD UPS, which seems to be a nice device with enough power support. I notice on the OCUK pictures, they seem to show 3 pin kettle style connections on the back. Is this normal or are they normal UK 3 Pin sockets on the back, assuming these are merely stock pics. If not, do I need to buy a load of new cables?
