I had a delivery of electrical items at work worth about 9 000 pounds yesterday. The delivery bloke dropped them down one flight of stairs on the way up (have him on CCTV).
I have not managed to test everything yet but a customer just returned one of the times because it was DOA

Is there anything I can do?

Send them back as DOA, which they were. It's not your problem that he dropped them, it's the problem of the company that you ordered from until you sign for it, which I am guessing was after the fact?

I do a lot of business with the company that sent them to me so I don’t want to mess them around too much however I will get on the phone to UPS this afternoon and hope for the best

It shouldnt cost the company who sent it anything at all, assuming it was adequately insured that is.

Well I called . Looks like someone forgot to pay for insurance. They offered 60 pounds lol, the pnp was about 3 times that

No matter what your relationship with the provider of the goods, you have customers to provide a service for, if all these items are DOA then it makes you look bad, if they didn't get insurance for £9000 worth of goods then someone has cocked up big time.

You have a video proving the courier dropped the package down the stairs and because someone didn't opt for insurance you can't claim for the entire price?
That can't be right, can it?

you didnt recieve your goods in a satisfactory or working condition! Therefore it is the suppliers problem. The UPS man may have dropped it but if they didnt insure them properly it their problem not yours. Send them pack and dont pay a penny. Youre not paying £9k for broken goods.

Even without insurance, you can still bring a civil claim under those circumstances against the delivery man/company.

Untill you sign for them they are the couriers responsibilty, if no insurance has been paid to cover the good while in transit and they are damaged then it is down to the supplier to rectify the situation. They were not YOUR goods until you signed for them no matter what your suppliers say, they have a responsibility and an obligation to make sure you recieve your goods in pristene condition.

This is somewhat similar to the situation where couriers leave packages with neighbours or on the doorstep, said package then goes 'missing' and when queried the suppliers tell the client to call the police and report it as a theft. Which you cannot do, you never had the goods to have them stolen in the first place, the courier/supplier is the one who needs to take action.
