Heya all, I recently got a Cyberpower UPS and an IEC (Computer Spares 1m IEC C14 Plug to 4 Gang Mains Power UK Socket) but aside from the plug being able to be wiggled up and down in every slot on the back of the UPS I noticed this
I got this in reply
"
The IEC C13/C14 specification has a maximum rating of 10A - therefore any hardware that uses this connection should not be supplying or requiring a higher current than this hence the 10A label. Typically they're used for lower current electronic equipment. Hardware that requires a higher current use the C19 / C20 which is rated up to 16A. we specify that 10A is the maximum rating for the product.
The 4 way UK mains extension block used in the product is rated at 13A but when combined with the IEC connector, the maximum current for the product overall is then 10A. We'll take the feedback on board and speak to the manufacturer about potentially using clearer labelling."
It is a Cyberpower 1500VA/900W unit and selling an extension rated at 13 but the cable for 10 doesn't seem right.
Are these things safe to use? I was going to plug two PC's and two monitors into it.
Edit
I am an idiot, apparently the UPS is also 10A for input. Couldn't see option to delete thread, if a mod would be so kind?
