I've been looking at UPS for home use.
Ideally I'd like to be able to attach:
1x Conroe based PC with a fair amount of kit inside
1x Dell 2007FPW Widescreen LCD
1x Netgear Wireless/ADSL Router
1x External HD
I guess somewhere in the region of 15 minutes of uptime on these items would be great as it would cover me from the majoroty of power outages.
Means hopefully won't lose work and if I'm playing an MMORPG or other game online I can get to a safe place and get logged out.
I know that APC are great.
I've noticed OcUK do a value range - the 1000VA at £40+vat for a managed (assume this comes with software to shut-down etc) seems like a bargain.
Is anybody using one of the OcUK value UPS?
Is it any good?
It says 4x Outlets - are these 4x 3-way sockets, or 4x "Kettle Lead" style?
Any other suggestions for the kind of runtime I'm after on the kind of equipment I've listed?
