Anyone have any idea at all how often UPS pick up repaired box's from the repair centre in Havant?

I've read elsewhere it's only once, or maybe twice, a week

My box gets picked up tomorrow so should be at the repair centre on Weds/Thurs. And according to the MS support site it will be repaired or replaced in two business days.

But from what I've heard/read it will take a while longer? I'm prepared for a 3 weeker :(

think they mean their bit of just fixing will take up to two days

sure it takes a week to recieve it back

yeah, sorry. i didn't make it clear. my box will be at the repair centre for just two days, so it could spend the other 10 days or so getting there and back again!

Mine was collected last tuesday and delivered to the repair centre on Wednesday (I tracked it on the UPS website).
The status remained 'waiting for device at service centre' until the weekend when it changed to 'device received at service centre'.
My take on this is that the status changes once it was in the hands of the someone who does the repairs.
As some people have previously have a very quick turnaround on their 360's I can only assume that UPS collect them more than once a week.
Logically speaking, seeing that MS pay UPS to deliver them to the service centre on a 24 hour service, I would expect UPS to collect from the repair centre on a daily basis.
One thing I am not sure about is whether they are returned to us on a 24 hour or 48 hour delivery service.
As end users we will never know on average how many Xbox 360's they have in for repair at any given time.
I can't recall the name of the company that does the repairs but I googled them last week and I get the impression they do repairs for other manufacturers as well.
They seem quite a big outfit and they are an American owned company.
Judging on when the status changed on mine (I didn't check it from Saturday afternoon until Sunday evening and that's when the status had changed) they give the impression they work weekends and possibly they work on a shift pattern for the repairs as well.
Perhaps I am just trying to read things in our favour and in hope of getting mine back before the weekend as one weekend without any COD4 is bad enough and two weekends would leave me without the will to live :D

Mine took exactly 1 1/2 weeks from the day I dropped off the box at UPS :) I hear this is the norm

If mine is back in the same time I will find you and give you a big wet sloppy kiss! :D

Disclaimer.
As a straight male I have never kissed another man and the above was purely intended as a joke and I actually have no intentions of kissing SebC.

Also, UPS tend to deliver at around 4 o'clock (around my area anyway) - which is pretty handy if you're a student :)

I couldn't guarantee my missus would be in the collection or return and I didn't want to come home to discover they had left a 'sorry we missed you' card.
That would be grounds for divorce so the work address was the best solution.

Hi,

Just to let you know, I had mine collected a couple of weeks before Christmas. It was returned to me in exactly seven days.

EDIT: I used the online returns function. This lets you print your own UPS sticker and means you can phone UPS the same day. Often, if you phone UPS in the AM they will collect in the PM of the same day. This speeds up the process a lot!

MS only take a couple days to repair/replace, the rest of the time it's awaiting colletion or delivery by UPS.

Are you sure about this?
As I said above, they collected mine last Monday PM and received at the service centre on the Tuesday PM.
The status 'waiting for device at the repair centre' didn't change to 'device received at the repair centre' until the weekend.
This leads me to believe that mine was sat with a pile of them in the service centres warehouse waiting to be repaired and the status changed once it was scanned in for repair.
Perhaps UPS do only collect from the service centre once or twice a week but mine was certainly delivered to them in 24 hours.

Yep, I am sure MS are pretty quick.

Mine spent more time "Waiting For Device At Service Centre" and "Device Shipped To Customer" than anything!

Once the status has changed to "Device Received At Service Centre" it changed to "Shipped..." within 2 days.
