I had a Belkin 1200VA UPS which failed today and it is less than one year old. It had one server attached and failed after 20 minutes of power cut and now will not charge.

Has anyone had any past experiences of UPSs that they'd recommend? I had APCs for years and they were not brilliant but they were better than this. Have I just been unlucky with the UPSs that I have known?

I'm looking through the documentation right now but am uncertain as to what is covered. I don't think that any of the hardware is fried, but I think some hard disks are FUBARed and there has been significant data loss.

Does anyone know/have experience with Belkin policies and what are people's experiences with UPSs generally?

I have only ever had APC. I bought a SmartUPS 700VA for about £180 I think it was, it worked fine for 2 years then the battery started to fail to recharge. I didnt wanna fork out £70 for a replacement or buy a cheapo alternative for it so I opted for a £65 APC BackUPS 650VA which has been fine since.
