Hi Guys

I don't know if I have posted this in the right place, but I couldn't find "power"

Anyway I'm after a decent UPS that will power my main system, and my home server in the event of power outage... I know it wont power them for long, but hopefully long enough for me to shut them down safely

Can anyway recommend one?

Thanks

What sort of price are you looking at ?, I was looking a few weeks ago for a quick power down unit and found the Riello iPlug 800va UPS which looked interesting, UPS backup for 5 items and USB connection to your PC to power down in event of a problem and about £55.
Problem is I couldnt find any reviews for it.

UPS is something im after too. Im in country and power cuts can be frequent as theres a known (unknown) fault in the line.

My System will be overclocked 3570k with Radeon hd 7700, PSU will be 550w. From what ive researched, 1000va is equivalent to 550w, or some sellers say 600w. You should use psucalculator to find your wattage first. they seem 50-80 quid each for the cheaper ones. Any reviews (not many) are usually negative, but as im sure you know, people dont usually spend time doing a good review on a small item like that - just plug it in :)

Have a look at APC units...

I have 3 of them attached to different boxes and have always worked well...

Which would you recommend for running home server and main rig off, I prefer the tower looking ones with the display.

Also would like it to turn server off/on at specific times, so during the night the server isn't stood doing nothing (I've heard they can do that)

Any advice gratefully received :)
