Upscalling and saving DVD software.

As in saving the changes made to the video once it has been upscaled? All 'upscaling' software/hardware actually does is increase the size of the picture and apply some fancy filters to try and make it look better. To do what you want you'd have to extract the video from the DVD, upscale it and then re-encode it back again.

no I want to save the upscaled picture.

what resolution do you need for youtube?

I must say that it sounds a bit odd to be upscaling for youtube when most users will then be watching in lower quality thus you are upscaling and then downscaling which will introduce more artifacts than just staying with the source resolution.
