just wondering, can u run a vapo or a mach upside down, i.e have the pipe come down the case, obviously if it has a lcd display it will need turnung around but wasnt sure, i know its gas, but when its cold does it go to liquid?

I'm not sure about upside down, but make sure you understand phase properly. The compressor pressurises the gas until it becomes a liquid, then as it heats up through the evap tube it turns back into a gas (evap point for the gas used is about -30 hence you have about -30 cpu temps). Then it goes through the compressor again and so on. The rad and fan in most setups in simply there to cool the compressor as it can kick out a lot of heat.

the evap head can be below the compressor yes.

Al vapos that come in the cases (PE/XE) run like this.

Im guessing you want the compressor etc in the top of the case?
I dotn think you can run the compressor upside down, but you dont need to do that.

EVAP HEAD MUST BE ABOVE COMPRESSOR FOR:
Vapo LS
All nVentiv Prometeia units.

EVAP HEAD MUST BE BELOW COMPRESSOR FOR:
Vapo PE, XE, SE and Classic.

Get it wrong and you'll kill your phasechange rig... when that kinda money is involved, make sure what you're saying is correct before you say it.

S'all to do with the flow of oil within the system.

not all true marci. its more to do with liquid refrigerant getting back to the compressor and killing it. you can use a ls or mach head below the compressor, i have seen it done on bench rigs without any problems. vapo pe/xe have a tendancy to give problems when mounted low down in a case as the refrigerant can "run back" and cause compressor failure, mainly due to the small diameter suction line and very small accumulator on those units.

i had an xe monted in the base of my case and ran it like that for over a year with no problems. i put an accumultor loop in the suction line to make sure all refrigerant had burned off before the compressor.
