Upside down PSU?

Here is my problem. My friend's PSU(Q-tek btw ) recently died. I bought him a 300W beQuiet PSU that from what l know is a good brand. The only way for the PSU's 120mm not be covered would be for me to flip the PSU upside down. That positions the 120mm above the 80mm exaust fan of the case.

Is positioning the PSU in such a way considered acceptable?

It will be fine mate. You can mount a PSU in anyway you want aslong as the fan(s) for the PSU can suck air to keep it cool. (Just don't cover the fan) so you are doing the right thing flipping the PSU over.
