Oh dear DIY dummy 101.

I've managed to snap, not 1 but 2 window handles in my clumsiness and was wondering how easy/difficult it's going to be to replace these.

Images of a non-broken vs broken one for reference.

I'll assume there are 2 screws under the small plastic covers and the locking mechanism itself is generic/standard, so I just need to source replacement handles (B&Q?)

Cheers, Paul.

Handles are easy to replace. I swapped mine out with replacements from the local window fitters - they were happy to sell handles separately and only cost a few quid. I had some windows replaced with new units and got the same handles to fit to the old windows which were still in good nick.

Ahh thanks for the confirmation/reassurance. I think I'll replace all handles in the 2 rooms affected (only 5 interactive windows in total).

Cheers, Paul.

You just need to remove the handle and measure the distance between the two bolts and the spindle length. Most PVC handles are universal, so you shouldnt have any trouble getting a replacement.

They are pretty cheap on ebay, just search for PVC window handles.
