Ultrawide>16.9. Main reason for me is you see more due to the added side view.
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
That's madness, just change your FOV and see more or less as you see fit lol.Ultrawide>16.9. Main reason for me is you see more due to the added side view.

But if you get a 16:9 monitor thats as wide as the "ultrawide". Change the FOV to match the width of the UW. Then you get the same exact view PLUS more view top and bottom! It’s not madness at all, most ultrawide gamers share this view and it’s why many go for this format.

19:9 fills your vision better than 21:9 that's all there is to it.You can change the fov on an uktrawide as well. The 21.9 will always show more than the 16.9 at the same fov. Plus I don't like messing with the stock fov on most games as it's fine at default.

Most people are "sold" on Ultrawide because they went from a "x" cm tall monitor to an ultrawide that is the same "x"cm tall. So they swear by them, of course they do. They got a bigger monitor (wider) than they previously had and got more game on the screen. Yay!
But if you objectively compare 16:9 to 21:9 of the same width. The 16:9 is far more immersive and a better shape for our eyes.
If you have a gsync screen go nvidia, if you have a freesync screen then AMD.
There is not much difference between a 2070s, 5700xt and a 2080.
I find 16:9 plenty wide. I already need to move my eyeballs a lot as it is on that. I say bring back 16:10!19:9 fills your vision better than 21:9 that's all there is to it.

Will I miss Freesync?
Although saying this im stuck at Freesync 1 and the monitor isn't the best (UE590) so may be an upgrade on the cards at some point.
Im watching benchmarking with the 5700XT and its suprising me to be honest. And it definitely fits my brief re the looks.
So I suppose its now 2080S vs Saving a bit, and keeping freesync with the 5700XT
or a sub-£500 2070 Super and you're flying.
