URGENT advice needed.

Hi,

my brother-in-laws cars Tax ran out today and his MOT runs out tomorrow.

Can he still go and Tax the car today eben thought hes only got 1 day left on his MOT?

I think he should be fine. In the end he has a valid MOT certificate still..can't see a problem myself :confused:

Dont think you can.....
Needs to have 'x' amount of days MOT left before you can Tax it, think its in the small print of one of the forms

Yes you can, no problems, there is no (x day period of MOT due to expire) before you can obtain tax, so dont worry about it

Well he has just been and got his TAX.

Silly sod told me that it had an expiry date of the 01/03/06, turns out the expiry date was today.

Just been and done it my MOT runs out tomorrow.

It was busy at the post office though, damm idiots leaving it until the last minute.

Got my MOT booked for Monday so thats £110 spent in a week on my car.

I know that feeling just spent the best part of £160 on tax & mot. Luckily I've got 8 days between the tax & the mot running out. Still, we should be able to tax them online next time due to the new online mot system.

Hopefully, i only paid for 6 months Tax so it softened the blow a little, but it still hurts.

you just pay the tax on the benefit right?

I got the MG back on the road today as well £170 for the tax + £40 for the MOT + £45 for a new battery = no beer for techie this weekend
