Right, my mate has just got a new PC base unit. How does he transfer all his AOL email inbox, sent, address etc from the old pc to the new one?

He has put AOL back on his new pc but no inbox, sent messages, addresses etc on there!!

Help!! Ta

they are held on an AOL server not his PC, it’s the same for me I can access my emails on any computer using outlook or using the AOL web interface.

So, if he installs AOL on his new PC, opens it up, all his emails and addresses should be there? Even the ones he has saved etc etc?

Yes, if he has saved them in the AOL folders not actually on his desktop or hard drive the emails will be there when he puts AOL on his new PC.

I must add I wouldn’t use the AOL software it’s really dire.

What if he has saved them on his old HD? Is there a way to copy / import them into his new pc / AOL?

Now then that’s a good question :p Its being a good few years since I touched the AOL software so I’m not sure how he would go about backing up the emails saved, wouldn’t it just be a case of finding the folder there stored in and backing up that? I think you best send an email to AOL or use the live help and see what they say; no doubt there may be a backup tool.#

Edit/ Are you sure there stored on his harddrive? I'm sure you cant.
