I just switched over from using our ISPs SMTP server as a smart host to the DNS record option to send mail directly.

I edited the only send connector under organization -> hub transport.

I'm not even sure where to go from here? Changing back to a smart connector doesn't appear to resolve the issue.

Please help an exchange noob :(
 
Oh, in my panic, I forgot to include that part :P

All outgoing emails are coming back as undeliverable and #550 5.7.1 Unable to relay ##
 
What's your exchange organization configured like? How many servers, doing what roles?

Do you have an edge server?
 
Problem solved.

It appeared to be a weird issue with the router and some existing port forwarding rules causing everything outgoing on port 25 to loop back to the mail server.
