urgent help needed for Red Alert 2 LAN

ok basically I am trying to play a LAN game of red alert 2. changed every single netowrk setting in the game and the best result I have come up with is both players are in the lobby and can see each other, only one player sees the others text, and no one sees anyones games.

Please how on earth do yuo get this game working!?

update: I can see one persons game (the slower pc) but my text doesnt show up on their lobby even though they can see my name., and when I try to join the game it freezes

Firewalls? Disable them just incase.
If not that then I don't know really, do both pc's share the same workgroup and same windows service pack?
Odd one tbh, never had a problem with RA2 over LAN.

all same windows and no firewalls. got ipx etc installed. trying a frew things from other forums atm

if your only playing over a lan then disable your internet then try the different network settings.

the game is a bit messed up...on some setups it works fine and others the internet had to be disabled....well hope that one works for you.
or just disable the network card what your internet is connected on

I disabled now everything cept one network adapter, tried a load of new settings. finally got ti working. thnx for help anyhow!
