Urgent help needed for Vista Backup issue

Big problems with Vista backup - basically I can't. When trying to perform backup which did work the first time I used it I now get the following message. "File backup could not save your automatic backup settings for the following reasons The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with (0x80041321) Please try again. I have looked on the Microsoft Help site and although it mentions this message there is no mention of a fix??

I think it may be wise if other Vista users had a look to see if their backup is working. From what I have read the problem may lie with an MS update which has caused problems with the task scheduler. I have downloaded Acronis TrueImage 10 and that works a treat. I am getting heartily sick of Vista and its problems, I wish to god I had stuck with XP.

Has anyone tried to perform a Vista backup to ascertain if they problem is simply confined to my Vista install or if the problem is more widespread?

My Vista runs a backup procedure once a week automatocally.
