Long and short of it is, got my new system up and running, havnt oc'd anything, just installed windows 7 and the gigabyte drivers and its now froze 4 times. I mean totally froze, cant do anything, 2 of these times its shut the system down after around 40 seconds.

These are the max temps in Hwmonitor as i though it may be getting to hot
core #0 33deg
core #1 34deg
core #2 30deg
core #3 28deg

is this hot ?

Spec in sig

Temps look fine, if you see 80c+ then worry.

Double check all connections are tight on the motherboard and test with only only one memory module.

Tried with one stick of ram and everything seems to be pushed in, seems totally random, can freeze after 10 seconds or 10 minutes... could it be the gigabyte drivers ?

should note the 6850 is not in at the minute

It could be, try doing another install (pain I know :()

Is it possibly try another drive temporary just to rule out issues with your SSD.

just checked the event viewer and there are 9 critical events, all the times its now frozen.. Event id41 'Kernel-Power'

anyone know what this means ?

And nope, no overclocking

Ah cheers hadnt seen that... how would i go about using the second hdd if windows is on the ssd? (Way out of my depth now ha!)

Cant you only install oem windows once though? Ive been running for nearly an hour now with no crashes, so fingers crossed pushing everything in properly has worked hah

Update: Ran for 2 hours then froze, just unplugged the ssd and then it froze in the bios, unplugged the 2nd hdd now and gonna see if the same happens...

what would be next to check ? also ive disabled turbo boost as i was running at close to 3.9ghz and testing now
