I assure you this isn't a scam :p:o but an old friend just had a quadruple bypass and I'm just visiting him now. He's accidentally locked his iPhone shortly after surgery and it's requesting it be connected to a computer with iTunes. However a quick Google suggests you need to connect to a previously synced computer which we can't (he's never done so)?

I'm not too savvy with iOS and as it's his only way to connect with his family, I'm desperate to get it fixed ASAP. I can take it home and connect it to a PC with iTunes but not one previously synced before. Help :(.

Edit - it seems that whatever solution I choose it will wipe the phone. Would his contacts etc be automatically be backed up on the cloud - he's not the type of user to muck about with these settings. And would imagine he wants anything backed up restored.

Edit - I am going to reset it and I think I am right in thinking that he can simply sign into his Apple account at a later stage.

The phone wouldn't respond to the computer unless I was in recovery mode, and the only option iTunes gave me was resetting the phone. To compound the issue, he gave me the incorrect password for his Apple ID. Without access to the phone, it seemed the only other way to reset that was through his email which I didn't have access to/he's forgot it and not in a great state to remember it.

All sorted though as I had his old pin and the reset got me far enough to receive an auto confirmation text to reset his Apple ID password. The phone has restored to a May 8 backup which will do.

On my way back to drop it off, as a Note 9 user I quite like the iPhone X :p.
