This morning i booted up my pc and everything was fine.... Then it started to slow down, and get even slower and it eventually BSOD.

So i restarted the computer and it was still slow on boot up - it got to "memory runs at dual channel interleaved" and just hung there for a while. After a few seconds it did carry onto boot but didnt boot into windows. I got this error

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/CONFIG/SYSTEM"

Its telling me to insert the windows disk to try and repair it - i will give this a shot if not looks like a friday night of formatting :(

What is causing this problem? This has happened before and im sure it is down to the Geil RAM.

Can any one spread some light?

Cheers, Jon.

Undo your overclock, go into the bios and set load fail safe defaults then make sure you set your boot disk priority so your booting off the drive you have XP on if you have more than one hard drive. If not try 1 ram of stick to see if its the ram is not then you might have to reformat :(.

Ok - tried both sticks of RAM and it still dosnt boot. Format it is :(

Is there a possability its the RAM, should i RMA it as this is the 2nd set of GEIL that i have had and both have seemed to cause me problems.
