Urgent Help Needed

I won a Canong G& which I bought from Amazon.

With three days of the warranty left, it has a crackling sound and no audio when I record a video.

Amazon, being the amazing company they are, have offered a full refund, but I do need to ensure it is in fact a fault - I can't seem to find anyone with similar problems online.

The sound is like a high pitch crackling and no audio when I record.

What on earth could this be, is it definately a fault?

Do u mean CANON G7 ? From what you say, sounds like a microphone problem. I would send it off and get your refund.

Yes, Canon G7.

To be honest, even if it is not faulty I suppose I will only get it sent back to me. I have nothing to lose and like you say, its probably a MIC issue, which is what it sounds like to me.

Its quite exciting that now I start to read about new camers - which one to get!?

I have found the G7 a bit big and too advanced for me, despite the fact that I've loved its build quality and colours.

they might swap it for newer model dependng on how the warranty works ( this is assuming they cant fix it)

Are you sending it back under warranty or just as a return due to fault?

Sending it back under warranty - but through amazon. I spoke to Canon and I had to send it to them, at my cost, so I called amazon who I have had fantastic experience with before, and recieved fantastic experience again, as they have promised to refund it AND the shipping costs too!
