Urgent help needed

Hi, I've been a long time lurker here and usually I find answers to my questions here easily. However I'm stuck now.

I'm building my first PC and have this Motherboard however my powersupply only has one 4 pin 12v connector. Would I be able to use it and would it work with an i5 sandybridge 2500 retail not overclocked and a MSI 6850 Cyclone OC? Thanks for any help.

pretty sure it should work. whats the make/model of the psu and does it have a PCI-E plug or would you be using the molex adaptor?

what power supply is it? i wouldnt want to use an adapter maybe better to get a new power supply

agreed, if you need adaptors then its probably time to look at a new psu.

quick google search shows

Connectors: 1 x 4pin ATX 12V
5 x 4pin Molex
1 x 6pin PCI-E Power
1 x FDD Power
2 x SATA Power

so PCI-E wise it wont need adaptor. its worth a go, dont know anything about Colour IT though, sorry.

Ok well what I'm thinking is if it turns on is it ok? And then later I can get a 4 pin to 8 pin adapter

it should run it, but whether you are stressing the psu i am not sure.
as for going from 4 pin to 8 pin adaptors, i dont really see the need for that, but im not sure.
