Urgent help needed!

So I received a placement GPU today as the last was fault. Got the card in the machine, slotted in nicely, but I have the same issue I had last time. The screw holes on the GPU don't line up with those on the back of my case. I feel I may have actually broke my last card by pulling on the card to make the holes line up to get the screws in. And then it wasn't easy to do.

So I need to know, do I actually have to screw the card in? there's some kind of slider/lock on the PCI slot itself that stops the card from falling out, and while I'd prefere to have screws in there too, I don't want to force it.

Otherwise, any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: The urgency is due to there being a kids party in the room I happen to be building in, in about 30 mins, so I need to get this sorted and out the way (literally got no room for it elsewhere at the moment!)

tends to be part of a slot of eaxtra metal padding around the pci slot on the case that stops it from sitting flush, either that or no mobo spacer screws being used :/

It's sorted guys. I installed the card while the case was led on it's side, but when I stood it up, one screen hole aligned perfectly, the other was a milimeter off, so I left it as is with one screw.
