Hi

im building my sandybridge e system as i type but i have a slight problem i have a cable from the antec 1200 case that is the microphone and headphone sockets at the front but im unsure where they connect to they look like the USB 2 plug i just put into the motherboard but im unsure

plus the power switch for the case to mobo i only have the powersw restsw and hd led ive pluged them in but shud i have more of them i remeber my last build i have maybe 1 or 2 more i think? but dont have anymore cables from the case

thanks

The red cable is the +

I've noticed 99% of the time. The wording on the connector faces out towards the edge of the board. Not in towards the centre.

Your also missing the HDD led and power led. However these aren't that big of a deal.

If you're using the motherboard's onboard audio then the microphone/headphone connector needs to be connected to the audio header on the motherboard.

If you provide the specific model of motherboard I'll tell you where it is.

Usually you have cables for power switch, reset switch, power LED and a HDD activity LED.

The header for the microphone/headphone connector is shown below.

If the cable has 2 connectors, HD Audio and AC'97, you want to use HD Audio.

ive got the powersw and the rest done right then thanks again for your quick replies its bin a while sinse i built a system from brand new lol

No worries. Your audio headers is usually pretty close to the USB headers. Just look for it. It looks identical to the USB one, except the second pin in is missing.

It should also be labelled audio or something similar.

Take a look.

Also, the little plug on the switch cables, + pin has a little arrow on the plug. Not sure about newer antec's, but my version 1 doesn't have a power led cable, only Power, reset and HDD led.
