The problem is that I have been away for about three months and the system hasn't been used. Today I've switched it on and I get a CPU fan error. Going into setup the fan speed is approx 580 rpm and I watch the CPU temp rise and rise.

However the CPU fan is properly connected to the mb, is the sealed h20 unit and its associated fans are running full blast. I am therefore confused as to he it has "failed" - can anyone help diagnose? Do these units fail? Anyone shed any light on how this has happened?

Kind regards Neil

maybe the pump has died?

it shouldn't go above 40-45c in the bios and 30-35c in windows

if it has died get a big aircooler, much more reliable

Weather is much warmer now fella. The silencing foam also insulates heat inside the case. If the fan is definitely spinning then maybe it's just dust that has clogged in the rad. Remove the fan and have a butchers, clean if necessary. Worrying that there is an error being reported so maybe the CLC is faulty :(

Il vote dust too - ive cleaned my rig out 2-3 times in the last year, my room gets so dusty so very easily, so with you being away for a few months their could be a bit of a dust build, aslo the temps weve had last few weeks will really bang your temps up

Thanks all I have dismantled the Cooler fans and cleaned the rad. Will check it in the morning.

If you're still having issues, i'd swap out the coolant. Drain it, put some new coolant in there, see how it runs.
