URGENT HELP PLEASE... (dead PC)

hi just returned home from a few days away,

I LIve alone, so no one firstly has touched my computer.

Just gone upstairs to my main pc (IN SIG) turned power on, pressed power butn on pc and nothing, i have a red light on my psu on the back

(PSU is a hyper type r)
surely the psu cannot be dead it has a red light on at the back ? cant die just like that can it ?

nothing, no movemenet on fans etc. HELP, I need this pc quick. having to use a old laptop to type to you guys.

What could be up ? was fine before i went away never had a psu or any problem with computer before this ?/?

is the power button still plugged into the motherboard?

-have there been any lightening strikes?

everything is plugged in fine, was unplugged from mains b4 i went away. plug out of wall.

But red light is on ?

my old pc once refused to turn on, i just left it unplugged for about 30 mins then pluggd it back in and it worked, never happened again..?

remove the atx cable and reseat it, worth a try

done that and nothing,

just got my digital M-Meter and checked the large socket plug that goes from PSU to Mobo, and I can only find the 5v power on them, nothing on the 4 pin mobo socket though, but the larger one, i can only get a reading from the 5v line

My PSU partially died a few weeks back... Provided enough power for Led's on the mobo and usb but nothing else!

Just got another PSU (same) from a local shop, installed it and it works fine now.

No problem....

How odd.

£65 though! grrrr always something

My Hiper Type R 580w blew up on Friday but still lit up.

I don't think they are the greatest brand when it comes to PSU's

Exactly the same here, happened about 2 weeks ago now.

It's ok, I got myself a Tagan now
