Ok I brought a b grade gigabyte z77x ud3h from here but it has no io shield. Is it ok to use it without or do I need one? If so where can I get one from

I'd remove the link to the competitor, not allowed I'm afraid!

So you decided to quote it. :rolleyes:

If you can get hold of a shield for the motherboard that fits, regardless where you get it for, it'll be fine. I would think you should need one.
 
Probably a good idea to remove that link, people know what an OI backplate is.

Don't link competitors.

On a note, you dont "need" one but it saves you from stabbing the board through the back while trying to plug something in, also guess it can stop stuff from getting in like spiders/flies etc etc lol, oh and dust :p.
 
I've used many boards without over the years including an OCUK B-grade

Purely cosmetic so I'd build without it.

By the time the PC is tucked away you'll never notice.

Purely cosmetic to fill in the gap. Not required at all to function, just will stop dust etc getting in.

As above contact mobo manufacturer and they might be able to sort you out.
