Looking at a Honda civic with a friend right now, spotted this, anything to be concerned about? Also anything to look for specific to these?

That feels like far too much money for a start - I'm sure I sold my diesel of the same age for £6k about 3-4 years ago

That aside check the roof where the windscreen joins, that's rust to actually be concerned about - Honda are becoming more and more difficult about repairing under warranty

Agreed with above, was looking at these the other day for a friend and £4995 is a bit over the average for that mileage.

That's just a cursory glance, I'm sure if you shop around you can find a hell of a lot more car for the money, or the same car for a hell of a lot less money.

Aye top of windscreen rust is the common fault.

5k does seem rather steep tbh

The 2.2 diseasel engines are pretty robust, I'd have no qualms getting one with moon miles for a coupla k less as long as it was serviced and had the clutch done already

Vaseline is good for battery terminals

My 2008 2.2SE went for £3800 a year or so back (it did have 125k on it) Rust over the windscreen and stone chipping to bonnet. Clutch was still excellent.

Too expensive, I bought mine for £3100 6 months ago, fsh, same mileage but an 06 plate - I can't see a year newer adding £2k to the price!

Just an update, I talked him into walking away from that sale, when I went through the service history it was missing 2 years (FSH claimed on advert) missing the spare tyre/inflate kit, and various other questionable parts.

Today went and saw one for 500 quid less, 1 year newer, 1 owner, 10k less miles, better overall condition, full service history at main dealers and obviously well maintained.

Bargain!
