hey guys,

got my new soprano case today and eventtually get everything moved across.. switch on the machine and i get a long loud beep and then nothing happens!

Any ideas whats up?

Make sure the ram, GPU, CPU etc are seated properly. It might even be worth taking all the parts out and putting them back in again. What the beep means, depends on the bios and how many beeps there are.

thanks il have a look.. its really ******* me off coz gotta do coursework for tomorrow!

There is an orange light on the mobo..as far as i know its normally green.

All my connections are ok.. the only thing i didnt do was plug in all the connectors from the top of the head like headphones etc and an extra 2 usb ports

re-inserted video card and it goes fine.....

up until the next problem! it comes up some message about a cmos error.. defaults loaded?

It took ages to work out the IDE devices.

Any ideas?

finally got it sorted.. well almost

i have 3 hard disks and i had put the wrong sata cable into the wrong slot.. so it was probably trying to boot from the wrong drive.

Now when I boot up I get this message from GigaRAID trying to get me to configure a raid setup.

I just type [Esc] to continue booting... when windows loads i get a new hardware message and it tries to look for raid controller drivers..

I thought swapping cases was meant to be hassle free lol!

try disabling raid options in the bios, your bios has reset during the transfer, you might want to go through it and check the options are all fine, nothing out of the usual

lol, thanks!

i dont use any raid setups its just 3 disks running independently so can i disable it all in bios?

When I go into windows then try to access one of the other hard disks then it crashes

Very very annoying!

guys im losing the plot here!

disabled bios.. now when i boot up i get a message saying no disk reserved for raid..

i have a gigaraid onboard part and then theres something else which comes up called sataraid.. i have disabled gigaraid for now..

windows still booting ok but running quite choppy

Still dont know how my bios got reset

iv tried disabling all the raid controllers etc etc but still it hangs when i access my other drives.. as far as i know one of my drives is appearing as an IDE drive but they are all plugged into sata sockets.. this thing is going out my skylight window if i dont get this sorted within an hr!

think in the end it was the sata drives.. was talking to a guy in the local computer shop and he says gigabyte boards can cause sata nightmares.. next mobo will be an asus for sure!

Now for assignments...........

Cheers guys
