Hi guys,

Just ordered a Xonar DGX PCI-E Sound Card but had a look inside my case at my motherboard which is a Gigabyte Z77-D3H and realised that my 7950 is taking up one of the PCI-E slots and the only others are either dead below the Video card or above it.

Does anyone know if this is okay, or if I should cancel my order and get a PCI Sound Card?
Has anyone got this Motherboard and Sound Card?

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Thankyou,
Tom

I have this sound card but couldn't get it to work with my gigabyte mobo (GA-P67A-UD4-B3). Mine sounds like it has a similar layout to yours. Was a rather tight fight no matter if I used the slots above (due to CPU cooler) or below the graphics card. I could be wrong but don't think having it directly below the graphics card will cause any problems, as you see people running SLI for example without much of a gap in between for the fan to get air. On my card the fan is in the middle but there was still enough room for the fan to get enough air with the sound card installed directly below it.

Thankyou so much guys, much appreciated. I just got really worried after ordering and looking into my case and seeing the slots. I will give it a go when the card arrives. ;)

Thankyou,
Tom

Right, just got the sound card and it fits fine above the GFX...but only one slight problem, the PC will not boot with it plugged in (Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Mobo).
I have searched online and have found others with the problem and they say that you need to QFlash the BIOS but I do not have a clue what I am doing!?!

Can anyone help PLEASE!

I started a thread with the non-booting issue with that sound card last week. Still haven't got a fix for it even after flashing bios.
