Hi all.

I have been tasked with building an affordable new machine for a chap in the networks department at work. He would like an i7 machine with ECC memory for reliability. Is this ever going to happen?

Does the memory controller on the i7 support ECC and which desktop boards under £200 will support ECC memory.

Workstation boards mainly, not cheap, not sub £200

Supermicro X8SAX-O
Asus P6T7 WS

Thanks, and will these boards work with ECC when using i7 or only when using a Xeon CPU?
