Worst. Day. Evar! I powered my computer on today and had a little tweak in the BIOS. When I saved and proceeded I got a windows startup error. Forgetting that it was probably down to a windows update I franticly reverted the settings one by one, and loading some pages back to fail-safe defaults. However, one time I restarted my illuminated kb/m did not light up. Restarted, same story. Fortunatly it made it automatically go to windows startup repair which fixed my windows error! However, I annie on the login screen with no way of typing my password or entering the BIOS!

I tested the USB ports by plugging in an external HDD which span up in every port. I also got my mouse to simply light up but not do anything. My keyboard still remains unresponsive. What can I do?

I tried my PS/2 keyboard earlier to see if that worked but nothing seemed to happen. After some thinking, I restarted the computer with the PS/2 keyboard attatched. Pressed Del- straight into the BIOS! Had a look and for some reason the USB host controller was turned off, so although the USB drives were powered, there was no data throughput.

I was beginning to think my second-hand mobo was dying on me!
