Hi Guys,

Right now I am away from home on another computer!

I got a problem, I updated to the latest firmware of my router which is a Netgear Range Max ADSL2 model number Netgear DG834PN. After the firmware flash all went well at first. The progress bar completed and then I got a message saying check all LED's on your router are lit. I then pressed ok as I saw the lights flickering. Then it's like the computer froze as the lights kept flickering. It would not turn off, I had to pull the cable from out of the back of the router. Then I placed it back in and it's still not working. The power light and a light right beside it just flickers constantly. I have pressed the reboot button on the back of the router and still nothing happens. windows cannot pick up my router anymore. It seems this flash was buggy, what do you think is wrong with it? I have tried everything and the lights don't stop flickering.

Many thanks in advance

Can you get to the routers admin page?

Has it reset your passwords?

Have you tried pressing the reset switch?

Sounds like a borked flash, try holding your reset button in for 10 seconds.

To be honest, Im not optimistic about it!

many thanks for your replies

I tried holding in the reset button for 10 seconds and hasn't helped, lights still keep flickering.

I did the flash over a wired connection

I cannot access the routers admins page

Ha must be karma. dvdbunny got owned.

Didnt even realise it was dvdbunny! Although I did think the title was a bit oddly worded.

Lets just hope dvdbunny hasnt saved his novel and those crysis screen shots and his website to his routers flash memory!

I think it's time to get a new router!
