Ok just purchased essentially a whole new system and finally got round to fitting it all today...Heres the system specs

Asus P6X58D Premium Intel X58 (Socket 1366)
i7 960
12gb (4x3 gb)
1TB F3
x2 280 GTX's
Zalman Z9 Plus case

So installed everything, all went fine, powered up the system, lights, fans...But nothing displayed on the screen.

The PC seems to be booting up (HDD led activity)

So far ive tried taking out one of the GTX's and still no luck.

The monitor is fine btw as im using my dads PC as we speak.

Anyone help?

Ok, so it must be a problem with the GFX cards (yep, both), It randomly displayed after loads of resets.

Installed Vista, checked the specs in the device manager. All is fine. CPU is detected, hard drive is cool, runs perfect.

Its slightly odd how both of the GFX cards have the exact same fault...(keep repowering the system until it randomly works)

I knew one of the 280's were dodgey becuase the guy I purchsed it off said he had to do the same thing. It must just be dumb luck that my own personal 280 decided to do the exact same thing!

With just one 280 in, it will display but its hit or miss when it does.

Havent tried SLi and doing the rebooting until it displays that will be my mission when I get in from work tonight.

I have a Thermaltake 700W Toughpower.

It worked fine with my 280GTX so dont see that being the problem with just one card in the machine.

Well one 280GTX is mine, had it for 3 years or so. Just so happens it looks like its decided to die on the journey home on friday.

The other 280GTX was bought off a guy for £30 who did state it sometimes didnt work and wasnt sure if it was his dodgey PC, so I took a punt with it.

Just my luck really.

Ok little update. Im a little confused now tbh...

Just added my second 280GTX in SLi and its displayed after afew trys of turning the power on and off again. Seems theres something odd going on...
