Hello overclocked my stock 8450 and so far here are the results.

I need help to push it a bit further. i have upped the volt to 1.28 and the oc wont budge at all. ive tried lowering ram speeds etc and i cant get it moving. its running at 245 need it to 248 for 2.6ghz and possibly more if possilbe please help

what is it failing at , boot or stress tests?

turn all multi's down and do large in-place FFTs to see if FSB is stable, if not give it little more V.

If FSB ok do small FFTs to test only cpu. Seems from what your saying your givin it more V with no result so if when testing (with small so cpu only) and still failing get it cooler perhaps.

If cpu is fine then your last option is the hypertransport. Hypertransport i'v read can start to reach margin of error @ 1200mhz but that may be old old news. turn its multi down while pushing for max cpu, you can test it alone at another point to find its max also using large in place while cpu etc multi is down.

good luck

its failing at boot. after i set the fsb over 245 bios tells me overclock has failed. i will try lower the HT and see how it goes. cant get at the HT multiplyer im afriad.

what does your HT run at stock? my cpu is old and HT is 1000Mhz, yours at that oc is 2200? HT multiplier in my bios is just below cou multiplier. possibly the same on your board that under northbridge voltage when set to manual you have sperate voltages for core/pcie and hypertransport. core obviously for fsb and hypertransport voltage is pretty self explanatory, so can give them little bumps depending on what your tryin to up.

I'm still in middle of seein what each of my components can go to but from testing fsb alone its stable at stock volts of 1.1v up until fsb = 250 then i need to add one tiny notch to nb core v making it 1.12 lol and then it stable so far up to fsb = 260.

Just as a side thought you can prob use amd overdrive utility with your set up, means u can test all settings etc with out going in and out of bios although its auto tune set up crashes pc's lol. its usefull though for tryin stuff out then can set it in bios later once happy with it, little less tedious. only bugger is mine stopped work with my win7 at min for some reason

AMD Overdrive loads but when i applym a setting the whole system locks up im afriad. if i could get that working it would be so much better. Would help if some one would be able ot go on ventrilo for a bit of help :P if its not too much bother for any one. Just cant manage to get it sorted and im still a half o/c virgin XD

have no clue what ventrilo is lol so myb soem1 else can help wit dat or make a post in mobo section about it. so it never un freezes after it applies settings in aod? if it coems to it start over like i have and test each component slowly on its ownfinding max stable and recording what coltages needed at what stage in a spreadsheet then one u know all stable levels of fsb, HT, cpu and ram then find your best trade off between them all :). takes a lot of time though so i'm doin it bit by bit and soon will know and crank my system

it freezes when i change any setting. and it locks the system up so i have to manualy shut down. its weird because it says that my chipset is compatible with aod and i can use all options in the program :/. havent found anything thats shed any light on why its freezing the system :( would be great if it would work.

myb you setting it to unstable settings? do you have auto express enabled in you bios as times it causes instability by pushing pcie slot from 100mhz to 120! only soem cards like it, so i set it to auto and it didnt do it cos obviously my card doesnt like it.....cos its an old piece of s***

nope everything in bios is set to manual, i tried auto clock and it feezes stright away. dont know whats doing it. Even tried it at stock clocks and same result.
