Hello all, (have posted this in graphics cards as well)

I'm fuming

I'm currently in the process of selling my PC piece by piece, now my graphics card I took out the other night to take pictures of it and the seller bought it and I should have received the money today (haven't checked yet)

I left it on my desk ready to package etc.

Came home to find the side of my PC off and pulled forward, the graphics card hanging out of the side of it with the 2 x molex's connected and the machine on.

The fan wasn't spinning on the card.

The circuit board is touched the edge of the case.

What's the chance some idiotic member of my family (who shouldn't of been in there in the first place) has caused damage to the card.

I've unplugged it and its currently in a static proof bag.

Thanks

Test it in another pc?

Didn't ask what to do.

I asked what's the chance of damage, I'm going to leave it for half an hour before I test it.

might be deadly but it might not, depends on that part of the gfx car was touching it. If i was a chip it might be a gonner. (lets home not)

if it was just the plate it should be okey.

Like has been said test it and see.

I'd say unlikely. More likely your mobo was damaged. More power was potenially on tap from the 2 molex's is more then runs on any surface contacts of the mobo in theory. The fan wont spin when the gfx card isnt plugged in fully, its powered off the slot.

If the power supply was still running then you probably didnt have a bad short with sparks. That would have blown a fuse or at least tripped the supply (as found out one day when my finger touched something it shouldent have).

I'd say there is a good chance you got lucky, and the gfx card is ok... but something else might be gone.
