Woke up to a lovely sunny morning walked into my office with a spring in my step then all of a sudden was ground to a halt when I fried up my pc. After a loud groaning sound my psu made a horid loud "cough", promptly exploded and spat dusk and soot all over the place.
So I'm in need of an urget replacement as this has already cost me a days work. When I opened the poor old girl up to inspect the damage it felt like I was opening the Lost Ark for all the dust it threw up at me so I'm def getting a new case.
Everything looks like its still in working order and such so spec is as follows:-
Processor (CPU): Intel Core 2 Q6600 (Stock)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-946GMX-S2
Memory (RAM): Unkown brand 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300 (333MHz)
Hard drive: Samsung SpinPoint HD501LJ 500GB SATA 16MB Cache
Graphics card: Nvidia 9800GT 1GB PCI-E
Power supply (PSU): Generic 355w PSU that obviously doesn't work
Case: Generic, cramped case thats better off as an oven albeit caked in soot
Was toying with the idea of a few upgrades here and there very soon but right now need a new psu a.s.a.p. with the view to running a couple of high end cards and a couple of hdd with a ssd.
Seeing as my case is not up to the job decided go stump up for a HAF X which leaves me with around £80 for a psu. If anyone has a recommendation of a solid psu I'd be over the moon any advice or help would be very appreciative.
Cheers Doug.
