Hi Guys
I have had my new rig for about a month now, and its been running like a trooper...until yesterday.
I turned it on and got a Bios Rom Checksum Error Message saying something about AWDflash.exe. Not having a clue what this is, i rebooted and it went to windows. Fine i thought, maybe a glitch, so i played all afternoon on various games, no problems. went out for 2 hours after tea and returned to find my system had hanged. I rebooted it but now if i either leave the machine on for a long time, idling, or open any kind of game or hard application, it will hang, then BSOD and i cant veiw the message as the system reboots a second after the BSOD. I tried the event viewer but it said only a system error. (listed below)
BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : C0000005 BCP2 : BF9F3F0F BCP3 : B5EA24D4
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1
I tried system restoring as i thought these BSOD's would be driver related, and since that did nothing i have formatted and re-installed XP. I then DL'd a few things last night and left them DL'ing overnight, only to wake up this mjorning with a message to say my system has recovered from a system error, and then when i went to investigate, another BSOD.
Can anyone help? Is this pointing to a faulty hardware or should i look at flashing the bios?
thanks, jim
