Hi, can somone please tell me why my USB ports dont work?

Sombody has told me in need a PS2 keyboard to get USB to work in BIOS?

Were in initial setup, powering it up for the first time but the motherboard isnt reading my keyboard?

Sombody please help me, Thanks.

If USB support has always been disabled in the bios (which in my experience it isn't off by default on a new mobo??), then I'd say yes. As you'll need to use the keyboard to change the settings. But just get a USB to PS2 adapter, or borrow an old keyboard.

You'll need a PS2 keyboard to get into BIOS once and enable USB Keyboard and mouse to use USB before the OS loads :).

Yep, first thing to check is the BIOS, make sure they are enabled. If you only have a USB keyboard you will be knackered.

Second thing i would check is the USB host controller in device manager. Update/change the driver.

This is brand new. Everything is. But the USB ports dont work.

Yeah, just thought - I have a USB Keboard but used a PS2 adapter when I built this. Cheap as chips mate, in fact my keyboard came with one!
You got a mate with an old PS2 Keyboard?
My USB mouse worked during the OS install mind.
