Hey,

Just got home.. powered the PC up and went to get a drink.. came back and it had obviously rebooted (was on the initial BIOS screen).. thought: mm that's odd... must have been the power button (on the case) had got stuck in.. reboot... "windows did not reboot properley last time.." clicked on "normal start"..... Windows XP logo comes up as usual... 2-3 seconds later - black screen + it reboots itself...

So what happened? the power must have been disconnected through the main trip switch (goes off all the time) so when it disconnected.. it must have done something to XP - right?

So what the hell do I do now? I've just had to sit through my vista installation onto another partition so im on vista atm... so what can I do? I really REALLY dont want to format the XP partition as i've got loads of programs on it... and vistas got this stupid security crap so I cant access any of the files..

SURELY there must be something I can do? comon this must happen loads of times to people?

cheers =/

Oh well that was weird... installed some drivers in vista... rebooted.. decided to try XP again and it worked o.O had to do a chkdisk though.. fine... but in XP it said "found new hardware: 'volume' o.O

If you're still worried, get yourself a cheap ext HD and back everything up or back stuff up to DVD just in case things take a turn for the worse.

For some reason my RAID 0 array decided to corrupt and so had to create a new one and lost all my most recent stuff (savegames etc).

May well be getting an ext HD or DVD burner just for peace of mind and then can backup up more frequently.
