OK, I had mine just over a year ago. First thing is they take blood to test for HIV etc - look away if you don't like needles. One guy in my group passed out. Next you go into a cubical and strip, then put one of those awful gowns on. Then you go and get a chest Xray. After that, you go into the doctors office and she/he takes blood pressure, listens to your heart and various other minor checks. Then you have to lie on the bed and he/she has a poke around "down there". She then reviews your shots history and if you're any missing or you need boosters she sends you up to the nurse to get them. I had 3 - ow, ow and ow
That's it. Bit of paperwork to fill out - nothing major. The doctors place is very nice indeed!Some people have the medical first and then the interview at the embassy after - some have it the other way around. The wait for the interview is the worst bit.....it can take hours. Double check you have all your paperwork in order and double and triple check it. If you've forgotten something or messed something up that's it - you have to apply all over again! That actually happened to somebody while I was there.
