US Keyboard layout - What's different?

Ok so I just bought a Razer Tarantula keyboard from OCUK but one thing I didnt realise is that it was US Keyboard layout.

I dont suppose this makes much of a difference due to me being able to touch type anyway but other than the @ and " being different.. what else is changed?

Lol, random question but do any of you have this? Like.. you always use UK layout but bought a US layout keyboard?

A lot of the symbols are in different places # is where £ should be, \ is above the enter key, @ is where " should be... etc etc.

Letters and numbers remain the same though.

Enter key is also smaller...

i bought a g15 with a US board layout...i didnt realise when i put the order in.
now i dont have the pound sign...i wouldnt have bought it had i known but too late now.

Easiest solution is just to remember that " and @ swap places, and use a UK keymap.

You will need to edit the map though to keep \ functionality.

There are also US International layouts, which have the @ and " swapped around and no £ sign (ALT+0163 becomes your friend, trust me), but retain the nice large Enter key.

Ah cool, didn't know that one. Seems easier than mine, but I've become so used to 0163 that I doubt I'll ever stop, even when I've got a UK keyboard again!

Ahh on the Razer Tarantula you can swap between US and UK keyboard layout anyway

That's pretty cool.. useful too..
