Usable Ram WINDOWS 8

Check the BIOS, does it have 8gb displayed on startup?

Also, check in control panel - system (or w/e the Win8 is) to see if installed matches the bios, and also that is defo x64.

It is 64bit then? You could arrange a return of the whole unit. Alternatively to save on time and hasstle you could open it up and try with each stick individually in the first slot. If both work on their own, try them individually in the second slot. Should weed out a faulty stick/slot

In either case open a support ticket here

Have you checked in Msconfig, boot, advanced options in case for some reason maximum memory is ticked at 4gb.

If it's a brand new pre built it should be OcUK' s problem rather than yours :) Open a thread in the customer service forum or give them a ring on Monday.

Ensure you ground yourself, open case, check fitment of all the ram modules, press each module home firmly. reboot and check ram in bios and than again in windows.

Odds are on that this will solve your issues.

This used to pop up on older boards - and solved by activating the "memory remap" option in the bios to get around a known boundary/limitation of old 32 bit systems. Not sure if it exists on new boards but worth checking it. :)
