hi, i've noticed for a while now that i keep receiving a message from windows (vista 64) that 'your device could work faster if you attached it to a Hi-speed USB 2.0 port'.
The device in question being my usb wireless adaptor. Now i haven't worried about it too much as i still get 18-20mb d/l speeds, but i am considering purchasing a wireless N router and adapter for media streaming and am a little concerned that if i don't get this sorted it could have a negative impact on performance. i'm pretty sure the usb should be 2.0 as it's a newish mobo and the ports in question are connected directly to it rather than front of the case (not wired them up).
I don't know a huge deal about technical issues but my mobo is an asus p5ne32-sli and device manager says:
Universal serial Bus controllers
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub
drivers for the enhanced are (enhanced is 2.0 i believe)...
6.0.6001.18000
which driver update tells me is up to date. apparently it's using 20% of bandwith.
not sure what else you need to know. i can run sisoft if that would help? any tips?
