I have just got my self a new Asus P5K-E motherboard, Quad processor and new RAM. However, on rebooting my mouse does not seem to work. It is a IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 USB mouse.

Is it because it is an older USB mouse and the USB 2.0 sockets are not compatible with it?

Thanks,

Jon

I've tried two different ones. Are they hot swappable? Could it be that it needs a new driver? The light on the mouse isn't on at all if that is significant.

The light not coming on suggests that it isn't being recognised and therefore also not getting power.

USB is hot-swappable so it shouldn't be an issue in that sense, are other USB devices being recognised ok with the motherboard?
