If you have a 2Gb memory stick can you configure windows to use it as the swap file ? And if so would it give a boost to windows performance ?

You could put it in a card reader, and then set your swapfile to sit on it.... using the advanced performance options in the My Computer properties menu Just never ever remove it.

No idea if it'll increase performance though!

Nope - it will slow performance down, and wear the flash memory out very quickly.

Flash transfer rates are normally around 8MB/s write and 17MB/s read. Average modern disc is a lot higher (not sure on writes, but reads are 50-70MB/s)
