USB 3.0 Extension Cable?

Hi all,

Just purchased a Sony Mach 16GB USB 3.0 USB stick and I only have one USB 3.0 port and that is on the rear of my PC.

So I wanted to get an extension cable and put it on my desk.

Question is, will any USB extension cable do the job? Or will a standard one limit the speed?

I'm guessing the 'device' is where the speed is, so a USB 2.0 hub would limit it, but would a standard cable affect speed or not?

Do I need to look for a specific USB 3.0 extension cable?

You need a USB 3.0 extension cable such as: Akasa USB 3.0 150cm Male to Female Extension Cable

Using a USB 2.0 extension cable would limit you to USB 2.0 speed.

Thanks for letting me know (Y) Wasn't sure if the cable would affect it or not

Will buy a USB 3.0 cable
