Hi, I have just finished a new build with a Bitfenix Prodigy and ASRock z77e-itx. The Prodigy comes with a USB 3.0 front panel which I have connected to the USB 3.0 header on the motherboard. Unfortunately when I plug anything in it says 'USB device not recognised'.

I have heard of people experiencing similar issues - it could be the board, front panel or the fact that I installed windows 7 from a USB stick which installs default drivers which are somehow conflicting with the ASMedia USB 3.0 drivers for my motherboard.

I have tried uninstalled ALL usb drivers but windows just installs the default ones automatically on restart.

I have also tried using just the USB 2.0 cable from the front panel which seems to work fine.

I'd love to get to the bottom of this so if anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

All looks good in bios, can't figure it out. Just wondering if it's a driver conflict caused by installing Windows from a USB stick. Although I did try uninstalling all USB drivers and reinstalling the asrock ones but that didn't help. Also first time I installed the board I had both the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 front panel cables attached which I'm worried may also have something to do with it.

Discovered another problem after installing the drivers for my Razer Deathadder - now when I plug anything into any USB port the mouse starts dropping power intermittently. Something is definitely not right.

think you're only supposed to connect one of the headers. not both the usb2 and usb3 connectors at the same time.
(well at least i did) but i've not tried my front ports so idk whether its right or not
